The Iowa Print Sportswriters Association released their Iowa high school football All-State selections earlier this week. Greene County had senior Richard Daugherty on the first team, and juniors Nathan Behne and Noah Cornell on the second unit.
Caden Duncan is the head coach of the Rams and he talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the trio, starting today with Daugherty. “He had four interceptions on the year and was one of the hardest hitting DBs (defensive backs) that most teams saw. Richard is also the all-time interceptions leader for Greene County, since we actually became Greene County (2011), and I was really happy to see him get this honor. He was our leader back there in the secondary and he made a lot of big plays on offense, defense, and special teams.”
Daugherty led Class 2A in kickoff return average this season and for his career he averaged 40 yards per return.
