Friday, November 18th
12:56am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 300 American Ave. The officer and a keyholder found the business to be fine and reset the alarm.
6:47am: An officer covered a Deer vs. Car Accident in the 1200 Block of South Elm Street. A 2020 Ford Escape, owned and operated by Diane Gibson of Jefferson, struck the deer while driving on South Elm. The vehicle suffered a reported $5000.00 in damages.
11:01am: Greg Hall reported a Theft from his vehicle, while parked in the 400 Block of South Olive Street. Hall reported missing several hand construction tools, clothing , and prescription medications. The total amount of loss is over $500.00. The officer is investigating.
6:13pm: Officers were called to 304 East Harrison Street for a reported Domestic Argument occurring there. The officers arrived and met with the married couple. The officers located injuries on the female that were consistent with her reported events. Anthony Joseph Nunez, 55 of Jefferson, was arrested for, “Domestic Abuse Assault – Serious.”
8:51pm: Hy Vee reported a possible Theft from the business at 106 West Washington Street. The store will get the surveillance video of the event for the officer. The investigation continues.
Saturday, November 19th
12:01am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 300 American Drive. The building was found to be secure.
5:46am: Paul Hermanson reported a Vehicle vs. Bridge Accident on South Grimmell Road at the river bridge. Officers arrived and located the 18-year-old driver inside the vehicle with serious injuries. It appeared the accident had occurred several hours earlier. The subject was transported to ER by the Greene County Ambulance and later Life Flighted to a DSM Hospital. The 2007 Chevrolet K3500 is owned by Michael Happe of Grand Junction and was a total loss. The accident remains under investigation.
2:39pm: Stephany Bickle reported her juvenile daughter had run away after a family disturbance with siblings at 301 ½ East Lincoln Way Street. As officers were checking town for the juvenile, Bickle reported she was located inside the residence hiding.
3:07pm: Steve Cort advised packages he had ordered were delivered to the wrong address in Jefferson. He asked the officer to speak to the other party and see if they had his packages. The officer located Cort’s packages on the porch of the wrong address and advised Cort.
3:38pm: An officer located three very young children in a vehicle parked at Hy Vee. As the officer spoke to the young children, their mother came out of the business. The officer spoke with the mother about the issues with leaving children of this age alone in a vehicle. The incident was reported to DHS by the officer.
4:03pm: Mary Pat Burke advised her vehicle had broken down in the parking lot at 108 North Locust Street. She advised it would be removed on the following day.
6:52pm: Keisha Hornsby reported a vehicle with no tail lights on Old Hwy. 30 heading into Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
8:07pm: An officer checked on a motorist parked along 220th. The vehicle was having mechanical issues and the driver had help on the way.
11:09pm: Whitney Case requested officers at 806 West State Street for an Assault in progress between a female and her adult son. The officers arrived and located the male running from the residence. The officer gave chase in the patrol vehicle, but lost sight of the male. The officer’s investigation led to the requested Arrest Warrants for Allyn James case, 35 of Jefferson for, “Burglary 1st Degree – B Felony, 2 Counts of Trespassing – Simple, and 2 Counts of “Assault – Serious.”
Sunday, November 20th
2:08am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a vehicle who failed to stop at the posted stop sign at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Tearra Ann Ellis Hall, 24 of Rutland for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious. Hall was also issued citations for, “Open Container – Driver, and Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”
7:56am: Sherry Graven reported a stray dog at her residence in the 1100 Block of South Elm Street. The dog was placed in the Animal Holding Facility.
11:33am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of North Chestnut Street.
12:56pm: An officer involved DHS in a reported case of Sexual Assault to children in Jefferson. The officer will continue to work with DHS on the investigation.
7:06pm: Holly Walker reported a Careless Driver on 220th at Grimmell Road. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
8:07pm: Breadueax Pizza reported the business had received over 20 Harassing phone calls in the evening. The number was provided to the officer who is investigating.
Monday, November 21st
11:30am: Officers were advised of an adult female, who reportedly left Jefferson and had no contact with anyone since leaving. The officer looked into the matter and located a new phone number for the subject. The female advised the officer that she was fine and not in danger. She advised she had left of her own free will.
5:16pm: An officer covered a car vs. Deer Accident near Elm and Vest Streets. A 2022 Hyundai, owned and operated by Shelly Reed of Jefferson, was southbound on Elm and struck the deer, causing a reported $500.00 in damages.
9:04pm: Ashley Cooke spoke to an officer concerning a Civil Issue with a loan from a friend.
******* An officer made an arrest in a Sexual Abuse Case opened recently. Olvin R. Aguilar Flores, 32 of Jefferson has been charged with 2 Counts of, “Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child – B Felony.”
