
A single vehicle crash over the weekend in Jefferson resulted in a teen driver suffering serious injuries.
According to the Jefferson Police Department, officers responded to the incident at 5:46am Saturday on the South Grimmell Road bridge. The 18-year-old driver was found inside the 2007 Chevrolet K-3500 truck that struck the northeast portion of the bridge. The driver was transported by Greene County Ambulance and later taken by air ambulance to a Des Moines hospital. The truck was considered to be a total loss.
Officers believe the crash happened hours earlier and the investigation is ongoing. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Jefferson Fire Department, and Greene County Ambulance assisted at the scene.
