The Perry Chamber of Commerce is asking those to bundle up in warm clothing and gather downtown for a parade later this week.
Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says that the annual Lighted Holiday Parade will happen the day after Thanksgiving on Friday at 6pm. Pasutti explains that this celebration officially starts the holiday season in the Perry Downtown Business District.
“It’s really a chance to kick off the holiday season. So, you know, after you’ve filled up with some turkey the very next day, come out and enjoy the festive parade floats, the different lights downtown. Check it all out. Get a parade float yourself.”
Pasutti points out that all the businesses will be open late that night and will turn dark at 7pm in anticipation of the Lighted Parade. There will be prizes for best, biggest and brightest lighted parade floats. The parade route will start at the corner of 2nd and Otley and end in downtown.
