The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center School Board will meet in regular session tonight.

The Board will start with the annual meeting at 7pm, where they’ll discuss two consent items, before moving on to the organizational meeting where they will elect a new president and vice president, and appoint a secretary and treasurer. They will also appoint a Title IX/Equality Coordinator, and adopt rules and procedures for conducting meetings. The Board will finish the organizational meeting by setting the regular date, place and time for meetings, and consider for approval a resolution to name official publications, and a resolution to appoint legal counsel.

Once the organizational meeting is over, the Board will start the regular meeting, where they will hear reports from the principals, and superintendent, give their own report, and hear the financial report. The Board will consider for approval general/management fund claims, Secure an Advanced Vision for Education fund claims, activity and nutrition claims, open enrollment, resignations and gifts, grants and bequests.

The Board will also hear reports on natural gas, electricity, fuel and copiers, and consider for approval a contract recommendation for Amanda Beidler. Board members will then discuss the Iowa Association of School Boards Convention, and upcoming dates when the district will either have an early out, or be out of session for the holidays.

To finish the meeting, the Board will consider for approval 2022-23 depository institutions and limits, a resolution authorizing payments, Limited English Proficient excess costs application, School Budget Review Committee for increased enrollment and open enrollment out, the 2022-23 Return to Learn plan and the Early Retirement Incentive.
