With the Panorama Panthers girls basketball team gets ready for another season. I sat down with head coach Kylie Boettcher.
We talked about the changes for team heading into the 2022-23 season. One of the big changes is the shot clock coming to high school basketball. When asked how that changes strategy she said, “Typically, a lot of times, our drills if we’re doing a shooting drill or competitive, it was always in sets of 3o (seconds). That we because we didn’t have a shot clock. But now the with the shot clock being 35 (seconds), I need the girls to have the internal clock of what 35 seconds really is. We adjusted every drill to be 35 if it ever was a 30.
Coach Boettcher would continue, “But other things we do even end of the game situations. That totally changes now with the shot clock. You’re really now talking about possessions. Even just our film study and kind of our class work that we do, the conversations are different.”
The Panthers first official game is just under two weeks away. They’ll be opening the season at home against Greene County on November 29th.
