The Stuart City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council tabled the first reading of an ordinance regarding removing violations of restrictive covenants as nuisance subject to municipal enforcement, until they obtained more information on details, and what the ordinance would pertain to.

The Council then approved street closure for the Sweater Weather 5k Run later in November, heard updates from the president of the Stuart Library Board, along with Stuart Economic Director Matt Funk, and Andy Forcht. The Council then approved voluntary annexation of land owned by the Tibbens, and they also set public hearings for four parcels of land. Afterwards Mayor Dick Cook made a new appointment to the Historic Preservation Commission, before the meeting adjourned.
