Classification numbers from the Iowa High School Athletic Association show the Greene County Rams will remain in Class 2A for the boys’ basketball postseason next February. The 2021-22 enrollment figures from grades 9, 10, 11, show the Rams at 281 students, which is the ninth largest 2A figure. There are only 24 students difference from the largest 2A to Greene County at number 9, so one or two larger or smaller classes can make a difference when it comes to the postseason.
Head coach Chris Nelson is once again the only coach for the varsity, JV, and JV2 teams, so he’s likely to get to see a lot of basketball this season. The Rams started official practice yesterday and they’ll look to improve on the 9-13 record of a season ago.
