Greene County High School’s wrestling program had its first official practice on Monday. It’s not common for the Rams to have one Division I wrestling recruit, but having two in the room in the same season has been unprecedented until now. Senior McKinley Robbins officially signed a letter of intent last Thursday to attend Oregon State University in Corvallis and wrestle for the Beavers.

Senior Kale Petersen is nearing a college choice of his own and he told Raccoon Valley Radio via text he is close to making a decision between Iowa’s Hawkeyes and Iowa State’s Cyclones. Both are top 10 rated DI wrestling programs. Petersen is a two-time Iowa high school State Champion winning his first title in 1A in 2021 for West Fork (Sheffield) and in 2A for Greene County last season.

Both Petersen and Robbins are members of Sebolt Wrestling Academy in Jefferson.
