The Raccoon Valley Radio listening area is expected to get roughly one to three inches of snowfall this week.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Rod Donovan says that they expect snow to start early in the morning and last throughout Tuesday. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that motorist should be aware on the roadways because they expect the snow to stick to the ground.
“So we are expecting the snow to stick, especially on grassy surfaces, but also road temperatures have cooled as well. So there’s going to be some slick spots on roadways during the daytime hours. But in addition, any snow that falls at night will certainly stick to the roadways.”
Donovan also expects there to be a chance of snow tomorrow. He says that the temperatures this week will reach a record low for this time of year in Iowa with highs in the teens and 20s.
