It’s that time of the year again, and Raccoon Valley Radio is looking to help make the holidays a little brighter for some.
Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager John McGee explains what Caring Christmas is.
“For our Caring Christmas promotion, basically it’s a two part idea. One is we’re raising a bunch of food to help those in need with our Caring Christmas food drive remotes, and helping the area food pantries. The second part of the idea is our $1000 Christmas Cash Giveaway, where we’re going to be giving away $1000 on each of our three radio stations.”
This week starts the rounds for those live food drive broadcasts. Raccoon Valley Radio will be in Adel at Fareway with Early Morning Harvest as the partnering sponsor from 3-5pm on Tuesday. There will be two live broadcasts on Friday, one sponsored by Earlham Building Center, and taking place from 2-4pm at Hometown Market in Earlham, the other hosted and sponsored by the Jefferson Hy-Vee from 4-6pm. Early Morning Harvest is also the sponsor for the final food drive of the week, hosting the broadcast from 10am-noon on Saturday.
Those that donate at one of the live events can enter for a chance to win one of the three $1000 Christmas Cash Giveaways. Any donation made during a broadcast will go to the local food pantry. Monetary donations can also be made virtually, by scanning the QR code on the registration box at any Caring Christmas sponsor location, or going to raccoonvalleyradio.com.
