A local representative with the Greene County ISU Extension Office was recognized for providing opportunities for women in agriculture.

Extension Director Lori Mannel was awarded the “County Professional Excellence,” which recognizes those county professionals who conduct agriculture and natural resource programs and agricultural teaching, as well as outstanding extension efforts as related to the needs of the agricultural client. Mannel helped to bring women-centered programs such as “Managing for Today and Tomorrow,” “Annie’s Project,” and “Women Marketing Grain” to Greene County Extension.

Mannel received the award at last month’s ANR Professional Development Conference in Ames.
