A fourth suspect that was involved in stealing an ATM machine from Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson has been sentenced to prison.
According to court documents, 26-year-old Jacob Roop of Marshalltown pled guilty to a Class C Felony for first degree theft. District Court Judge Christopher Polking sentenced Roop to no more than ten years in prison with credit for time already served.
Court documents show that Roop was the passenger of the pickup truck that was used to steal an ATM machine from Wild Rose on January 28th. He, along with two other suspects, 39-year-old Jorge Palacios of California and 52-year-old Richard Harris of Marshalltown took the ATM machine out of a fire exit of Wild Rose, loaded it onto the truck and drove away.
Roop was also ordered to pay over $10,000 in victim restitution. As per the plea agreement, all other charges, including two Class D Felonies for second degree theft and second degree criminal mischief were dismissed.
