An Adel man that was involved in the January 6th riot at the US Capitol will face prison time.

Sources say, 42 year-old Chad Heathcote pled guilty to a misdemeanor for entering a restricted building, disorderly conduct and parading, demonstrating or picketing in the US Capitol building. It was believed that Heathcote was in the US Capital for two minutes. Heathcolt took a plea deal and will be facing a maximum sentence of six months in federal prison and has agreed to pay $500 in restitution toward the roughly $2.7 million in damages caused by the riot to the Capital complex.
