Two people were injured from a two vehicle crash Monday evening in Greene County.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, the sheriff’s office, the Paton Fire Department, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and Greene County Ambulance responded to the incident at 6:11pm at the intersection of X Avenue and 130th Street.
Forty-six-year-old Abel Rodriquez of Des Moines was driving a 1999 Chevrolet 1500 truck and heading south on X Avenue. After stopping at the posted stop sign, Rodriquez pulled into the intersection and hit a 2016 Toyota AV that was driven by 63-year-old Craig Roberts of Jefferson that was traveling west on 130th Street.
The Sheriff’s Office notes airbags deployed in both vehicles. A passenger in Rodriquez’s truck was taken by Grand Junction Rescue to Greene County Medical Center with suspected injuries, and Roberts was also taken to the medical center by Greene County Ambulance with minor injuries. Both vehicles were considered to be total losses.
Rodriquez was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
