The Greene County High School Student Council invites everyone to their upcoming program to honor area military veterans.

The Veterans Day Program is on Wednesday and it starts at 7:30am with a free breakfast for any veteran which will be served in the Ram Restaurant at the high school. The program will then begin around 8:15am in the auditorium. Student Council President Olivia Shannon will begin the event with welcoming remarks, followed by musical performances from the band and all state choir singers. There will also be a video presentation made by the video production class.

Student Council Vice President Bella Schroeder talks about why they want to continue to have a program dedicated to area military veterans.

“It’s just really important to recognize veterans and all that they do for us everyday and in the past. A lot of times students just get so caught up in our daily lives we don’t often think about that but it’s good to share that with every student and make sure that they remember the importance of veterans and what they do for us.”

Following the high school program, Greene County Veterans Affairs Director Michael Bierl invites attending veterans to stay in the auditorium for a movie. The high school program is free and open to all veterans and the public.
