Greene County head football coach Caden Duncan talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about his team getting 15 players recognition of some type from coaches in Class 2A District 8. The Rams went 5-0 in district play for the second straight season and repeated as champions of that district.
He noted that every one of Greene County’s true starters received recognition of some type. Nine players were on the first team with five on the second unit, and one was named honorable mention. Coach Duncan was voted as the District Coach of the Year.
“We definitely earned some respect from other coaches around the district. I really like how we do All-District voting. It’s truly voting, where some districts around the state have a certain number of slots depending on your district finish, so you could choose anyone. It’s truly voted on in our district and I have to nominate people. For that many of our guys being honored, I was very proud of them and to see all their hard work paying off.”
The Rams finished the season 8-2 overall and the program has had five winning seasons in a row with 8, 9, 7, 8, and 8 wins over that span.
