The Greene County Board of Supervisors gave their support for an initiative regarding military veterans.

Operation Green Light is led by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers to bring awareness about military veterans and the challenges they face when transitioning to civilian life and the resources that are available to them and their families. The Supervisors approved a resolution in support of the initiative at their regular meeting this past Monday, and as part of the resolution, the Greene County Courthouse in Jefferson will have green lights displayed at night from November 7th-13th.

The initiative also encourages any home residence or business to display an exterior green light during the same week in support of veterans, as well as shining it all year round.
