An important time change is coming up this weekend that everyone should be aware of.

Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday and Jefferson Fire Chief Jack Williams advises that it’s also a good time to update a potential life-saving piece of equipment in your home.

“Time change is coming up, the rollback. So make sure we are changing batteries in smoke alarms, fire alarms, so that they’ve got fresh batteries and they work properly.”

Williams notes to always coincide changing batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in your home with Daylight Saving Time changes in the spring and fall. Daylight Saving Time will end at 2am on Sunday and so all clocks will need to be adjusted back one hour.
