Greene County ISU Extension is offering its third Career Exploration Camp later this month.

Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway tells Raccoon Valley Radio in November they are doing programs on the construction industry. The November 7th class for first through third graders has a waiting list, which Hardaway encourages families to sign up in case a spot opens up. The November 14th class for fourth through eighth graders is still taking registrations. The programs will be at the Greene County Career Academy, on their respective days, from 4-5:30pm.

Hardaway shares her thoughts on starting these types of camps three months ago and seeing how successful they have become.

“When I thought about doing these I thought this would be a camp I would market and get nobody to show up for and I wouldn’t end up doing a lot of them, if I’m being completely honest. However, that has not been the case. Greene County has backed these camps and every single one has been full, and they are already filling up so fast I couldn’t be happier to host all of these camps.”

To register for any of the Career Exploration Camps, contact the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138.
