The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center volleyball season was considered to be a success by first year head coach Barb South.

The AC/GC Lady Chargers finished with a winning season (16-15) and winning conference record (5-4) with notable wins over Panorama, Glidden-Ralston and CAM. Coach South says as a first year head coach they faced a lot of changes this year with a lot on injuries but believes her team battled through those difficult times.

“I believe the girls really showed up and and worked hard and competed and became closer as a team. And those are things you’re always proud of. I think I learned a lot about conference opponents and and organizing and running a season as the head coach. And that’s that’s something I look forward to. It’s always good to reflect and say this is what I’ll do different next year.”

South points out that next year she wants to implement a faster offense with more experienced setters and also improving the total hitting efficiency and serving efficiency of her team.
