Greene County is no longer under a burn ban.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams confirms to Raccoon Valley Radio the county wide burn ban has been lifted, which means weather conditions have settled to where there’s no longer an increased risk for widespread fires. This also means Jefferson residents can resume openly burning yard waste within city limits. 

The burn ban was first put into effect on October 10th.
