It’s the round of 16 for Iowa’s football playoffs tonight and Greene County hosts West Lyon (Inwood) in a matchup of top 10 teams in Class 2A. Each team is rated sixth or seventh depending on the poll and they are next to each other in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Power Index with the Rams seventh and the Wildcats eighth.

Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams are 8-1 and winners of District 8 while coach Jay Rozeboom’s Wildcats are 7-2 and runners-up in District 1 to undefeated Central Lyon/George-Little Rock. The other loss for WL is to Western Christian (Hull) who is in the 1A round of 16 tonight. The only loss for Greene County was in week 3 at Kuemper Catholic in Carroll and the Knights are also still going in Class 1A.
