The annual Halloween events in Perry are tomorrow night and there’s more details about a couple of other events.
During the Perry Chamber’s Spooktacular from 4-6pm in the downtown area, the Perry Public Library will also participate with an annual tradition. Library Director Mary Murphy says they are going to have free books available for every child that visits them.
“The kids can look through the books and find a book that speaks to them that they want to read. It’s fantastic! I hear stories back from parents that, ‘Ya know what? When we got home, Johnny wasn’t eating candy, he was looking at his book. And that’s what makes it all worth while.”
Additionally, the Dallas County Hospital is having its safe and healthy drive-thru “There’s No Place Like Home” event. Vehicles are to enter the north parking lot from Iowa Street and follow the posted signage. There are three stations this year, with giveaway bags at each station for kids, while supplies last and families don’t have to get out of their vehicles. The free event is from 5-6:30pm.
