The Jefferson community has another opportunity to learn about another local business with a special program this week.
Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community will host Java and Juice at Home State Bank on Friday at 9:30am. Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the local bank is celebrating its recent groundbreaking of its second location in Polk City. Wetrich adds they will also highlight the recently completed renovation and the local artwork within the Jefferson facility.
Additionally, Wetrich encourages attendees to bring selected food items to be donated to the Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC). Those items include canned pork and beans, canned diced tomatoes and chili beans, along with cereal, vegetable and chicken noodle soups, and spaghetti noodles.
“Those are some of the things that the food pantry goes through a little bit more readily and is a little shorter on supplies. So like so many other businesses in town are such great supporters of the community and different events that our organization does. But, the food pantry and so many other things that are great to support around here our businesses are very, very good about that, so we really appreciate that.”
Home State Bank will continue to accept non-perishable food items for the pantry through Friday, November 4th.
