Since the covid pandemic first hit, an annual fundraiser makes its triumph return for one organization in Adel.

The Friends of the Adel Library Bake Sale is this Friday from 9am-4pm. Patron Services Librarian Amy Puck tells Raccoon Valley Radio they will accept donations on Thursday from 9am-6pm to have a variety of items for people to purchase during the fundraiser.

“We are asking people to bring in your zucchini breads, your banana breads, any type of baked goods, as well as preserves, or canned goods. The only requirement is we do ask that you don’t donate anything that requires refrigeration.

Puck talks about how the Friends had to shift their fundraiser in different directions during the pandemic.

“During the last couple of years (it) has definitely been challenging to coordinate fundraisers and charity drives. But mostly what the Friends has been focusing on our basket sales. For the Easter and Christmas holidays in the past couple of years, we have done silent auction basket sales.”

Proceeds from the bake sale will go to the Friends for supplementary purchases for the library.
