Heads up for some Greene County residents, emergency service phone lines will be temporarily down for a period of time tonight.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio residents who are outside of the service area of Jefferson Telecom, 911 services will be down from midnight to 2am as a fiber optic issue is being addressed. This issue does not impact Jefferson Telecom customers. Williams says 911 services should be back up and running after that time period and he appreciates everyone’s patience while crews work on the issue.
