With Trick or Treat Around the Square coming up this Thursday in Jefferson, hundreds of kids and families will be in costumes traveling around the downtown area.

Police Chief Mark Clouse reminds motorists to take the safest option when encountering lots of people out and about during the evening hours.

“My opinion, if you come close to an intersection and there’s some kids there close to the crossing, just stop your vehicle, motion them across and get them across the street safely. You have now participated in that and help them safely get across the street. So yeah, just take a little extra time and eyes wide open.”  

Trick or Treat Around the Square is Thursday from 4:30-6pm.
