One Guthrie County town will continue to do trick or treat but in a different way this weekend.

Bagley Mayor Ruth Riley says the City of Bagley is having their third annual “Spooky Halloween Parade,” where instead of trick or treaters going door to door there will be a parade that goes through the town passing out candy. Riley explains the response they get every year from this event.

“We’ve had nothing but tremendous feedback, people wanting to join, people donating, and still people are reserved about the pandemic and this is a way we get to show our towns togetherness.”

Riley says that this idea was to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and after the pandemic they decided to continue the parade. She says they are looking for donations in candy. Those who want to participate in the parade are encouraged to line up at the fire state at 3pm and the parade will start at 4pm on Sunday. The parade route will be posted here.
