Early voting has begun in the state of Iowa.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate says that those who requested an absentee ballot should have already received it and those looking to still request a ballot have until October 24th. He explains for a ballot to count it must be in the hands of the local county auditor by November 8th.
“Give yourself four or five days to make sure it gets to the auditor in time. And I encourage folks, if you’re going to do (it) that way, vote that way. You can go online to voterready.iowa.gov and you can track your ballot. You can see when you requested your ballot from the county auditor, it’ll show when the auditor mailed it out. It’ll show when they receive it back from you. That way you’ll know it got processed and it got counted.”
Guthrie County residents can vote now in person at the county auditor’s office from 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
