The Iowa High School playoffs starts tonight and Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center is in the thick of things.

The #2 seed Chargers (6-2) will have home field advantage and takes on a (5-3) Treynor Cardinals. AC/GC will be ready to take the field and wash away a week 8 disappointing loss against Van Meter (54-0). They will face a Treynor Cardinal team that loves to air out the ball including throwing the ball 183 times and 114 completions. Kayden Dirks leds their team as a senior quarterback and throwing for 977 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for over 300 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Cardinals have been very successful in causing turnovers with 12 recovered fumbles and 12 recorded interceptions. AC/GC will have to rely on their rushing attack that is second in the state with 2,600 yards while having a discipline secondary. Chargers only have four sacks, one interception and four recovered fumbles this year. They’ll have to cause some disruption to the Cardinal offense maybe even getting an interception to get a playoff win.
