Since the announcement of the cancellation of the final few games of the regular season for the Perry High School varsity football team, one company is expressing its gratitude for the commitment to the program.

Perry School District Superintendent Clark Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio Perry Hy-Vee is serving breakfast this Saturday.

“Our football team and those student-athletes that have been committed to this program. So a big ‘thank you’ and shout out to Hy-Vee for doing that.”

The decision to not play the final games of the season was made on October 5th due to the amount of injuries and safety of the players. The Perry freshmen and sophomore game will take place on Friday against Carlisle at Dewey Field, where the seniors will be recognized after the game.
