Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers boys and girls cross country both ran in their state qualifying race on Wednesday at Glenwood, and both teams were able to meet the mark to qualify for state, with the girls placing first in their run and the boys getting third.
The Tiger girls were able to finish with just 49 team points, as they were able to be 15 spots ahead of second place Glenwood. Senior Geneva Timmerman was able to find a first place finish, as she was able to put up a time of 17 minutes 59 seconds, as she finished 57 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Freshmen Haley James was able to grab a mark of 19 minutes 21 seconds, as she finished 5th overall. Sophomore Hannah Desmarais finished 10th with a time of 20 minutes 4 seconds. Mackealin Sutton finished 15h and Gracelyn Martens-Sinn finished 18th to round out the scoring finishes for ADM.
The boys were able to find a team score of 91, with only Glenwood and Lewis Central ahead of them in the team standings. Torin Timmerman was able to lead the way with a 6th place finish and a time of 16 minutes 35 seconds. Hunter Landphair was able to finish with a time of 17 minutes 12 seconds for a finish of 17th. Harrison Desmarais finished 21st, Issac Chapman 23rd, and Keegan Holdmeyer 24th to round out the Tiger standings.
The state race will be on Saturday, October 29th at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge. The girls will be running at 10:30, with the boys to compete at 11:15.
