The Stuart Library Foundation will be having their annual fundraiser auction and they’re looking for certain items.
Library Director Lisa Sherman says that the foundation auction is crucial for them to fund their after-school programs along with the summer reading and community cultural programs and the purchase of books and materials. Sherman tells Raccoon Valley Radio what items they have received so far.
“There are just wonderful things that are brought in for auction. They’re donated. They might be handcrafted things like this year we have a hickory cane. Well, it’s actually a walking stick and it’s absolutely beautiful, it’s hand-carved. We’ve got a beautiful quilt, another wooden quilt block. People that are those wonderful bakers in our community, ‘Hey, they are making stuff.’”
Sherman welcomes those to donate their items anytime during their business owners until November 3rd.
