An important deadline is coming up for non-profit organizations in Perry seeking grant funds.

The Perry Chamber is accepting grant applications through tomorrow for programs and projects that enhance the attractiveness of Perry, encourage tourism and/or promote events that draw additional visitors to the community. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that during the pandemic when events and programs were put on hold and grant funds shifted to primarily assist businesses that focused on improvements that would last beyond the pandemic.

“So we’re kind of just now getting back into the groove of things where we have those funds available, those annual events are coming back. So I would say that the outcome overall (during the pandemic) was very positive. The timing doesn’t quite work for all events, all non-profits to be able to utilize it, as we are just doing the one funding cycle this year. But it is an opportunity for people to say, ‘I have this event, it’s really great, but I think it could be even better with some support.’”

Grant requests are not to exceed $2,000 and matching funds are preferred, but not required. The Chamber received 4/7 of the hotel/motel tax revenues that are collected in Perry. The deadline to submit applications is 5pm tomorrow to the Chamber office. Click the link below to access a copy of the application.
