Newell-Fonda defeated Paton-Churdan in Newell on Monday night in a Class 1A Region 3 first round postseason volleyball match. The Rockets fell in three sets by scores of 12-25, 8-25, 6-25, as sixth ranked N-F advances with a 26-4 record while P-C ends the season at 1-21.

Coach Makayla Sparr’s team had just six kills with three by Paige Teeples and two from Calleigh Fitzpatrick. Grace Cullum went five for five at the service line with one ace while Becca Anderson was five for five and Emma Stream was five for six at the service line. Anderson had eight digs with seven from Teeples, and six by Stream. Teeples, Stream, Tarynn Fisher and Abby Duckett are the seniors on the P-C roster.
