trick-or-treat-around-the-square-3

An annual Halloween event is happening later this month in Jefferson and there’s still time for businesses to get involved.

Trick or Treat Around the Square is Thursday, October 27th from 4:30-6pm on the downtown square. Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Executive Director Matt Wetrich says this event draws lots of attention to the downtown area where businesses hand out lots of candy to trick-or-treaters.

“I think we’re going to have a lot of businesses participating again and we’re inviting businesses that are not on the square to participate. So if you would like to bring your business downtown to hand out candy and get your business’ name out there to folks, this is really well attended. I think they expect somewhere around 600 kids usually.”

Wetrich adds going on that same evening are games and activities at the Greene County Community Center from 3:45-5pm, a skit at the Jefferson Library from 5-6:30pm and a middle school music concert at 7pm at the middle school auditorium. Businesses are asked to contact the Welcome Center at 515-386-2155 to request a space on the square for Trick or Treat Around the Square.
