The Panorama School Board recently approved to totally replace their greenhouse roof.
Superintendent Shawn Holloway says that the Panorama’s Schools greenhouse has sustained significant damage from the hail storm and other weather related events and that it was time to replace the roof. He says the Board decided to replace all 20 roof panels that way all the panels look the same. Holloway explains how important it is to have a greenhouse on the Panorama’s campus.
“Mainly you could think about your horticulture type classes using the greenhouse every year, or FFA has a plant sale in the spring that the community really likes. And so they’ll start planning those seeds and growing those seeds here probably late November or early December, then through the winter to have hanging plants and whatnot ready to go for the public in the spring.”
The roof will be replaced for the cost of $6,000 using the Physical Plant and Levy and Secure and Advance Vision for Education funds. Holloway expects the project to be completed in roughly a month.
