For West Central Valley, the volleyball team was in action Tuesday, falling to the Pleasantville Trojans 2-0 in some second round action for the West Central Activities Conference Tournament. The Wildcats were outscored 25-14 and 25-20 respectively.

The cross country teams will be in action tonight, as they head to Panora for the West Central Activities Conference Meet. The teams also found out where their state qualifying meet will be held yesterday. The Wildcats will head to Shenandoah next Thursday on the 20th. There they will compete against 14 other schools to see what teams and individuals will make it to the state meet. Other schools from the Raccoon Valley listening area that will be attending are the Green County Rams, Des Moines Christian Lions and Van Meter Bulldogs.

The Wildcats football team will be looking to finish off the regular season on Friday, as they head to Truro to take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners. With last week’s win, the team has already secured an appearance in the postseason, something they haven’t done since 2012. Their first opponent in the postseason hasn’t been announced yet, but the Iowa High School Athletic Association should be making that announcement over the weekend.

The middle school cross country teams will also be competing this week, as they head to Ankeny for their State Meet. Athletes competing at the state meet will be Dallas Morgan and Scarlett Putney for the girls team, and Connor Light, Cayden Guisinger, Collin Darrah, Asa Meyers and Issac Escoto for the boys team. The State meet will be this Saturday.
