After 17 straight losses to start the high school volleyball season, Paton-Churdan is in the win column. Coach Makayla Sparr’s Rockets won its home finale last night in Churdan over West Harrison in three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-19. P-C tied WH for last place in the Rolling Valley Activities Conference with 1-7 records and the Rockets are 1-17 overall.

Bailey Anderson led the Rockets in assists with 11 and Paige Teeples had 11 digs. Becca Anderson and Teeples each had eight kills, and Becca and Mia Russell each recorded two blocks.

The win was the first since early in the 2021 season for the P-C program. They’ll go to non-conference opponent Eagle Grove tomorrow night, followed by the Rolling Valley Conference tournament on Saturday in Mondamin hosted by WH. The Class 1A Region 3 postseason begins for P-C on Monday in Newell vs. #6 Newell-Fonda.
