Dallas Center – Grimes cross country participated in their Little Hawkeye Conference meet on Monday at Dallas Center – Grimes middle school, and they were able to get some strong marks against good competition. The girls were able to finish 3rd and the boys were able to grab a place of 3rd as well.

The girls side was able to find a third place finish from Maddy Stevens, with the sophomore putting up a time of 20 minutes 19 seconds. Freshmen Emerson McDermott was able to finish 10th with a time of 21 minutes. Freshmen Addison Dooley finished 13th, senior Meredith McDermott 14th, and junior Abbey Angus 15th.

The boys side was able to see junior Jack Every finish 6th with a time of 16 minutes 35 seconds, and sophomore Elias Arbuckle 11th with a time of 17 minutes 2 seconds. Junior AJ Angus finished 12th and freshmen Colin Mandernach was right behind him in 13th.

Both teams will now have over a week to prepare before their state qualifying race on Wednesday October 19th in 4A competition.
