Several kids with one Perry-based organization continued to participate in a statewide activity, but also had some special guests.

Perry’s Academic Cultural and Enrichment Services (PACES) program recently completed the 12th Annual Healthiest State Initiative with a 30 minute walk to Wiese Park in Perry last week. PACES Program Director Mary Hillman tells Raccoon Valley Radio the executive director of the healthiest state initiative Jami Haberl and marketing communication strategist Chase Langos were also on hand for the kids’ walk. Hillman shares her thoughts on having two leadership representatives with the Healthiest State Initiative with them on the designated walk on October 5th.

“It really was a compliment to not only the Perry Schools and the PACES program, but I think it compliment to our students, our families with the support that I get from them, and my staff who prepared the students (and) talked to them about the importance of the walk and why we did that.”

Hillman adds that PACES has done a 30 minute walk for the 12th consecutive year.
