Postseason volleyball pairings have been released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Greene County is in Class 3A and will open at home in Jefferson while Paton-Churdan in 1A goes on the road to begin the postseason.

Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams will host OABCIG (Ida Grove) at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 inside the Greene County gym to open 3A Region 2 play in the quarterfinal round. The Falcons began the week with a 14-10 record while the Rams start this week at 15-8. The winner meets either number 10 Nevada or Southeast Valley (Gowrie) in Nevada on Nov. 19. The other teams in Region 2 are number 7 Unity Christian (Orange City), MOC-Floyd Valley, Cherokee Washington, and Harlan Community.

The Rockets open 1A Region 5 action in Newell vs. number 6 Newell-Fonda. St. Edmond (Ft. Dodge) or Ar-We-Va (Westside) will face the N-F/P-C winner.
