This past July's Survivor Walk at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County
One last major fundraising event for Greene County Relay for Life is this week.
An online auction is happening from 10am Monday to 6pm Friday. There will be 41 items up for bid during the week through the 32auctions website. You will need to create a free account in order to place a bid on an item.
Relay Event Leadership Team Chair Tori Riley says there are other ways people can also donate to Greene County Relay for Life such as creating a fundraising team through the American Cancer Society’s website.
“Those teams can be signed up at that same website, the Relay for Life of Greene County website, and they can be anytime of year, any kind of fundraising. With signing up on the website also gives you a real easy click where you can have a ‘Ask for Donations’ sent to all your loved ones and all your neighbors. So it makes a real easy way to solicit some donations because it really is such an important cause.”
According to the Greene County Relay for Life website as of Saturday over $7,500 has been raised with a goal of reaching $15,000 by the end of this year.
As for the online auction, winners will need to pick up their items at the Jefferson Masonic Lodge on the downtown square from 10am-1pm on Saturday.
