A reminder that there are two programs happening today and tomorrow with Dallas County Conservation.

The Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting a “Hawk Watch” today at the High Trestle Trail Bridge from 10am-4pm. Everyone is invited to come out and watch several different species of raptor birds in their migration pattern. Experienced hawkers will be on hand with additional knowledge and information. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own binoculars, but some will be available at the bridge as well.

Tomorrow will be a volunteer opportunity at Kuehn Conservation Area in celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. From 1:30-3:30pm participants will help create gathering sites on the burial mounds for celebrations and programming by mulching on the trail, assembling log benches and removing trees. There will also be a program on the history of the mounds. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and bring gloves. Registration is required to make sure there are enough tools and other materials.
