The Guthrie County Extension and Outreach Office received a matching grant from the Guthrie County Foundation and has made use of the funds.
Guthrie County Extension handed out various Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics kits that were in response to the education gap that was caused by the pandemic. The goal of the project was to combine literacy with STEM education by encouraging reading with hands-on activities. With the $2,000 grant they received, the kits were distributed to the Little Panther Daycare Center, Little Charger Early Learning Center and the Exploration and Learning Station in Stuart. Each kit will have various directions for the teachers on how to use the kits with different age groups. More information and pictures can be found here.
