Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library is having a special monthly recurrent program that is picking up steam.

Library Director Jeri Hawkins says that they have the “Krochet With Kim Club,” every second Tuesday of the month. Hawkins explains Kim Langgard will teach participants the process of how to crochet by creating textiles by using a hook to interlock loops of yarn. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio the community has been receptive to the program.

“Yeah, we’ve had some adults come in that are working on (a) project at home and they’re kind of stuck and want some help. We’ve also had some home school students come in and learn how to crochet, so it’s really open to anyone. We do have crochet hooks here for people to use and to learn and Kim has plenty of yard, so it’s just stop in and spend an hour with us and maybe learn how to crochet something to do this winter.”

The next time the “Krochet With Kim Club,” will meet is on October 16th at 2pm. This program is free and open to the public.
