Last Friday was the Homecoming game for West Central Valley, and the visiting Panorama Panthers didn’t stand a chance. Both teams came into the game on a losing streak, the Wildcats having lost the last two games, and Panorama losing their last four games.

The Panthers may have scored first, but the Wildcats made sure to more than make up for it, starting an impressive scoring run that lasted the whole game. Both teams scored 7 points in the first quarter, while West Central Valley scored 14 in the second quarter, and another 7 in the third quarter to head into the fourth quarter with an impressive 28-7 lead. In the final quarter, the Panthers squeaked in another touchdown, while the Wildcats racked up another 21 points, to take a commanding 49-14 victory.

Junior Nate Gerling led the Wildcats in passing yards, collecting 148 yards and 1 touchdown on six completions, and adding 49 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown as well. Senior Braiden Beane led West Central Valley in receiving yards, grabbing 63 yards and a touchdown on 2 receptions, and adding 104 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown as well. Fellow senior Kaedon Lindsay led the Wildcats in rushing yards and total tackles, tallying up 106 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries, and 8 tackles.
