The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board approved a new company that provides additional services to school district employees.
Superintendent Greg Defoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio the Board approved at their regular meeting in September an employee assistance program with Employee and Family Resources. He explains why the district wanted to go forward with doing something like this.
“We’re trying to really take a look at all the factors that can help keep our team functioning well and we want to keep great people. So one of the things when we analyze what was available to our staff is that we did not have a very robust or comprehensive Employee Assistance Program.”
Dufoe points out this company’s services encompasses a lot for employees, including counseling, a 24 hour telephone service, crisis response, wellness counseling and webinars, among other things. He adds that this is a no cost to employee service, which started October 1st and ends on June 30, 2023.
