P-C Middle School Marching Band at Greene Co Homecoming Parade

Two bands in Greene County competed this past weekend at Carroll Parade Band Day.

Greene County High School Band Director Wes Anderson says they earned third place in Class 3A, with Boone taking first and Storm Lake in second place. Anderson adds that he is very proud of how his kids did, considering this is the first time they went back to Carroll Band Day since 2019. 

Paton-Churdan Music Teacher Shannon Hobbs says the middle school was one of only two that competed and they received first place in Class 1A. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio she’s immensely proud of her 17 seventh and eighth graders because parade marching is different from what they are used to, but she wanted to have that unique experience. She was also impressed because her students only meet twice a week for about 40 minutes.
